The test model

So in the first proper installment we have the test model.  I did do it close to a year ago now but a lot of people wont have seen it so here goes...

Background
With the entire army I was thinking that with this particular kriel they would have been experiments of the nightmare empire.  This will be seen throughout the conversions and as I go I will explain why I have done certain things to the models

Using the necrotite as a form of sustenance for these champions of the Scharde Kriels it was found to not only increase their strength and aggression but also augment their natural resilience.  Small Necrotite boilers were added to their armament to permanently fill their bodies necrotite during the battle at hand.  One of the problems with this processs is what the necrotite does to the trollbloods lungs.  Processing oxygen is no longer possible and large masks filled with poisonous fumes are permanantly attached to their heads.

In the game
I will be using these models as trollkin champions.  I have 5 fully converted so far and 6 waiting for some heads.  The thought being I can have 2 max units or 1 max and 2 minimum units so I have all the bases covered.

Conversion
Quite a simle one really.  I removed the head from a cryx bloodgorger model then I first added a Maxmini biohazard head.

The set come with 2 of each of the 5 heads which are the perfect size and look for what i needed.  There was a little bit of trimming needed off the bottom of the head around the neck area as they are designed to fit on 28mm heroic scale minis.

The next thing I did was add on another Maxmini product .  The biohazard backpack.

These come in pack of 6 and all I did was stick it on the back at teh right angle so it looked natural.  Well as natural as you can get for a blighted troll anyway.

One of the great things about Maxmini is that you can ask for multiples of the same part and what I have done is just choose the lefthand backpack for now to get some conformity within the army.

Painting
What I will do is write a full painting guide for the main parts at a different time.  But for now.

Thanks for reading.
